Being a cabin leader at Outdoor School is an invaluable leadership opportunity! Cabin leaders are responsible for managing a cabin of 8-10 fifth or sixth grade students for up to one week. Sophomores, juniors and seniors can earn up to 90 hours of community service for their participation.
Eligibility/Requirements
High school sophomores, juniors & seniors who are interested in positive leadership, education, natural resources, and/or science fields.
Attend the required overnight training March 8-9, 2025

Field study instructors are individuals who value leadership, are seeking teaching opportunities, who can be professionals in natural resource education/environmental education/science fields. Field Instructors teach lessons to groups of 5th and/or 6th grade students. College students can earn up to 4 credits for participation and a designated stipend.
Eligibility/Requirements
Post high school or high school juniors and seniors interested in education, natural resource education, and/or science fields
Professionals in fields of natural resources/science
Submission of field instructor application
Completion of required background screening
Attend virtual trainings scheduled prior to selected program (if a high school or college student)
Attend the required overnight training March 8-9, 2025 (if a high school or college student)

Cabin Leader Responsibilities: Reside onsite for the week and lead a cabin of up to 8 sixth grade students

Field Instructor Responsibilities: Reside onsite for the week and teach field study lessons to groups of up to 10 sixth grade students.

Number of Cabin Leaders: 16-22
Cabin Leader Responsibilities: Reside onsite for the week and lead a cabin of up to 10 sixth grade students.

Field Instructor Responsibilities: Reside onsite for the week and teach field study lessons to groups of 12-14 sixth grade students.

forest camp ODS: 5 day-4 night residential
Dates: April 21-25, 2025

Cabin Leader Responsibilities: Reside onsite for the week and lead a cabin of up to 10 sixth grade students.

Field Instructor Responsibilities: Reside onsite for the week and teach field study lessons to groups of 14 sixth grade students.
